Atom Computing seeks a Quantum Engineer to advance neutral-atom quantum computing hardware and software interfaces. You will design equipment and control systems, collaborate with researchers, and contribute to publications and IP.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in a related field, possess deep atomic-physics knowledge, and can communicate across experimental and software teams. The role may involve physical tasks and working in a dynamic laboratory setting.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of atomic physics and quantum computing research.
  • Deep understanding of light-matter interactions.
  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of experimentalists and engineers.
  • Familiarity with Python and Git for software control and versioning.

Responsibilities

  • Design and construct the scientific hardware and control interfaces (hardware and software) that underpin the quantum computing platform.
  • Generate intellectual property related to neutral-atom quantum computers.
  • Distill and communicate findings internally and in external publications and presentations.
  • Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 25 pounds.
