John Sisk & Son is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on construction projects. You will prepare tenders, analyse subcontractors, negotiate orders and manage financial aspects through to final account, while maintaining robust records and reporting.
The role involves forecasting targets, valuing variations, updating final accounts and guiding junior surveyors, all within a dynamic site environment that values integrity and delivery.

Work within and assist the commercial and construction team to ensure successful project delivery while maintaining relationships, maximising commercial returns and managing risk.
Preparing tenders, analysing and selecting subcontractors, negotiating and finalising subcontract orders.
Managing financial and commercial aspects of subcontractors to final account completion.
Maintaining site records and document control.
Recording site measurements.
Assisting with forecasts, targets and contract value reconciliations.
Preparing valuations and variations with sufficient records and details, agreeing changes as works progress.
Updating projected final account and submitting in a timely manner.
Liaise with site management to influence and challenge commercial matters
Implement commercial strategy.
Maintain and protect John Sisk & Son commercial and contractual entitlements
Participate in contract value reviews maintaining an independent view
Identify and assess risks and opportunities
Develop understanding of insurances and warranties
Engage in cash management activities to ensure good cash flow
Support tender processes as required
Supervise and oversee Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, checking their work
Maintain site records and control documents
Apply clear written and verbal communication skills
Effectively utilise technology platforms
Be fully conversant with the Standard Method of Measurement
Demonstrate commercial awareness and ownership
Apply time management organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
