Job summary

DRW invites a Quantitative Trading Analyst Intern to join a 10-week program in Chicago, working with traders, technologists, and researchers to develop and evaluate trading strategies. You will participate in projects that combine technology, research, and risk management, with exposure to market research and machine learning applications on tick data.

You will present findings to senior leadership at the end of the internship, and enjoy housing near the office, mentorship, and team-building

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in mathematics, economics, physics, statistics, computer science or any engineering related field with an expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Advanced quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to deploy those skills under time-sensitive situations.
• Proficient programming in Python.
• Self-motivated, enjoy challenges and significant responsibility in fast-paced environments.
• Passion for financial markets and curiosity to explore new methodologies.
• Strong communication skills to advocate ideas clearly to the group.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior traders, technologists and researchers by developing and improving trading strategies on the trading desk.
• Identify and research market research projects using powerful analytic tools.
• Apply machine learning techniques to market tick data for automated trading.
• Take responsibility through assignments like position tracking, calculating risk, and analyzing theoretical values.
