Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Quantitative Trader to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and deploying high-frequency trading algorithms
- Exploring trading ideas by analyzing market data and market microstructure for patterns
- Creating tools to analyze data for patterns
- Contributing to libraries of analytical computations to support market data analysis and trading
- Developing, augmenting, and calibrating exchange simulators
- Communicating with internal and external trade support, market centers, and other parties to handle real-time trading issues and improve understanding of specific markets
- Shaping the future of Tower through regular interviewing and infrequent campus recruiting trips
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or related fields
- 0–2 years of experience
- Proficient in an object‑oriented programming language (C++ and Python preferred)
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix – past industry experience is a plus
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant and/or participation in relevant Olympiads – a plus
- Familiarity with machine learning, data analysis, market research, and data modeling – a plus
- Strong problem‑solving abilities
- Passion for new technologies and ideas
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Financial experience is not required; interest in financial markets is a plus
Annual base salary range in New York: $150,000 – $250,000, plus discretionary bonus eligibility.
