Quantitative Insurance Solutions Analyst
The Quantitative Insurance Solutions Analyst will bring exceptional quantitative reasoning, financial, and analytical skills to help our clients with asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk modeling. This role requires strong collaboration, innovative mindset, and the ability to develop and improve custom solutions.
Responsibilities
- Utilize quantitative analyses including optimization, simulation, and proprietary tools to support asset allocation studies and portfolio construction/hedging.
- Deep dive into analytical issues to provide effective resolutions and improve processes.
- Develop and enhance the team’s production engine for standard and customized processes and reports for client accounts and model portfolios.
- Perform simulations and optimizations to meet client needs and follow up with data owners, developers, and modelers for timely issue resolution.
- Identify opportunities to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of analyses and implement automated solutions.
- Analyze trade‑offs between proprietary and off‑the‑shelf models, evaluating cost‑effectiveness and risk factor structures, and advise senior management.
- Specify, test, and implement enhancements to data, models, and processes for continuous improvement.
- Create customized analytical tools tailored to client requirements.
- Collaborate with client service, portfolio management, and risk management divisions to explain analyses and support client acquisition and retention.
- Interface with the firm’s proprietary and vendor systems and applications.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematical Finance or related discipline.
- 3‑5 years of relevant work experience, including analysis of fixed‑income instruments (RMBS, CMBS, ABS, CLO).
- Strong empirical, analytical, and technical skills.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Experience with third‑party analytic and risk systems such as Yield Book, POINT, Bloomberg PORT, etc.
- Technical proficiency in MS Excel/VBA, SQL, SAS, Python, R, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Schedule & Location
Hybrid work schedule, based in Pasadena, CA.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range $150,000 – $200,000 plus competitive bonus.
