Job summary

ELLKAY is seeking a Quality and Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated quality solutions across services, interfaces, data flows, and user experiences. You will join an Agile engineering team and combine exploratory testing with code-based automation to deliver fast, reliable feedback throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 3+ years in software quality engineering or software development with hands-on test automation experience.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language and experience with UI and API automation, SQL, Git, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of HTTP, REST or event-driven integrations, databases, application architecture, and debugging techniques.
• Ability to design clear test scenarios, write maintainable code, and balance speed with coverage.
• Strong collaboration, ownership, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into automated tests and exploratory testing.
• Develop automation for APIs, services, web, interfaces, databases, events, and end-to-end workflows.
• Apply test pyramid and risk-based coverage, focusing on stable checks over end-to-end tests.
• Create reusable test utilities, fixtures, and mocks to improve speed and maintainability.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and diagnose failures.
• Validate positive, negative, boundary, error-handling, compatibility, accessibility scenarios.
• Prepare and manage test data with privacy, security, masking, and environment requirements.
• Review stories, designs, code changes, and logs to identify testability gaps.
• Document defects with evidence and reproducible conditions; work with developers on root-cause analysis.
• Participate in refinement and release-readiness activities as a full team member.
• Monitor automation results and communicate coverage and readiness.
