Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Liquid Cooling - Quality Technician in Florence, KY to perform advanced QA on liquid cooling components, ensuring products meet strict quality standards.

You will conduct functional and reliability testing, perform inspections, and use precision tools to verify conformance. The role requires ASQ-style problem solving, collaboration with engineering teams, and documentation of quality processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
• 5+ years in quality assurance or manufacturing, esp. liquid cooling/HVAC or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced QA activities for liquid cooling systems, including testing and inspection to meet specs.
• Conduct functional and reliability testing of components and assemblies (pumps, cold plates, radiators, plumbing).
• Perform in-process and final inspections against drawings and standards.
• Use precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) for verification.
• Troubleshoot quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering/manufacturing to drive process improvements and design changes.
• Develop and revise quality docs: procedures, test plans, work instructions.
• Assist in training junior technicians on quality procedures.
• Participate in audits (ISO 9001) and data-driven analysis reports.
• Operate and maintain test equipment and environmental chambers.

How will you make an impact?

Performs advanced quality assurance activities related to liquid cooling systems, ensuring products meet Jabil’s stringent quality standards and customer specifications through testing, inspection, and process improvement initiatives.

What will you do?

• Conducts complex functional and reliability testing of liquid cooling components and assemblies, including pumps, cold plates, radiators, and associated plumbing.
• Performs in-process and final inspections to verify product conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Utilizes a variety of precision measurement tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, pressure gauges, flow meters, and thermal imaging cameras.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses quality issues, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and design teams to implement process improvements and design changes to enhance product quality and reliability.
• Develops and revises quality documentation, including inspection procedures, test plans, and work instructions.
• Assists in the training of junior quality technicians on quality procedures and best practices.
• Participates in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Analyzes quality data and generates reports to track trends, identify areas for improvement, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
• Operates and maintains specialized test equipment and environmental chambers for liquid cooling applications.

How will you get here?

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology) preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing role, specifically within liquid cooling systems, HVAC, or a related field requiring fluid dynamics and thermal management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Strong understanding of quality control methodologies, including statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (8D, 5 Whys).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Advanced experience with precision measurement tools and equipment.
• Familiarity with liquid cooling principles, including heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and common system components.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues in liquid cooling systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and report generation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with statistical software (e.g., Minitab) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• ASQ certifications (e.g., CQIA, CQT) are highly desirable.
