You will support quality assurance by inspecting components, materials and products against specifications, conducting basic electrical tests, and recording results to feed continuous improvement processes. The role emphasizes measurement science, data reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards and reliable performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensing may be required for export controls/regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: compare physical characteristics to specifications to identify defects and ensure quality.
  • Testing and Validation: perform simple electrical tests to verify specifications and performance.
  • Data Recording and Reporting: record results and prepare simple technical reports for continuous improvement.
  • Technical Expertise: conduct product and component testing using measurement equipment for accurate results.
  • Advanced Programming and Training: provide training and operation of measurement tools to enhance capabilities.
  • Customer Support: assist customers in interpreting specifications and measurement data.
  • Measurement Uncertainty Studies: participate to improve measurement reliability.
  • Equipment Maintenance: maintain and calibrate measurement/test equipment.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Quality Technician to join our 3rd shift team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Quality Assurance: By comparing physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications, you'll help identify defects and ensure high-quality standards.
  • Testing and Validation: Conducting simple tests on electrical function, reliability, and packaging quality will ensure products meet required specifications and performance criteria.
  • Data Recording and Reporting: Recording results and preparing simple technical reports will provide valuable insights and documentation for continuous improvement.
  • Technical Expertise: Providing product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment will ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Advanced Programming and Training: Offering advanced programming, training, and operation of measurement and test equipment will enhance the team's capabilities and efficiency.
  • Customer Support: Assisting customers in understanding and interpreting product specifications and measurement data will improve customer satisfaction and product application.
  • Measurement Uncertainty Studies: Participating in measurement uncertainty studies will contribute to the accuracy and reliability of measurement and calibration results.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment will maintain the integrity and functionality of the tools used.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Base Rate: $24.37-$32.84

3rd Shift Premium: $1.00/hr.

Work environment can be hot during the summer months and cool during the winter months.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lb parts for inspection.

Must be able to record legible measurement data from part inspections.
