Job summary

Bioventus LLC in Memphis, TN seeks a quality inspector to join our manufacturing operations. You will inspect finished and in-process products, raw materials, and parts per GMP and ISO 13485 standards, using metrology tools and precise inspection procedures.

Responsibilities include reviewing documentation for conformance, performing sterile inspections, and ensuring GDP-compliant records. Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, vision systems and SAP is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Two years technical school in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Electronics with related experience.
• Experience with metrology inspection equipment preferred.
• Calipers, micrometers, vision systems and timing gauges used daily.

Responsibilities

• Inspects finished, in-process, and purchased materials per GMP/ISO13485 procedures.
• Uses calipers, micrometers and advanced inspection equipment to measure products.
• Reviews product documentation for specification acceptance and GMP compliance.
• Conducts sterile product inspections and records results.
• Documents deviations and maintains GDP-compliant records.
• Performs related duties as assigned by the Manager.
• Adheres to Bioventus Code of Compliance and Ethics.

Primarily responsibilities include inspection of finished and purchased products, raw materials and miscellaneous supplies by performing visual, dimensional, functional and documentation inspection per specified procedures or instructions within the framework of the FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ISO 13485 standards.

• Performs routine visual inspection of partially complete, complete, or packaged products per procedure, specification, print, catalog, and/or visual standard.
• Performs inspection of product per procedure, specification or print using basic measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, tape, height gage, etc.) and advanced inspection equipment (VMM, Optical Sensors, Timing Gauges, etc.)
• Performs review of product documentation to verify acceptability per specification and GMP requirements.
• Conducts sterile product inspections.
• Completes documentation of inspection results and special studies when required.
• Uses inventory management software to perform work-in-process, inventory transactions and SPC data collection.
• Completes documentation using good documentation practices (GDP) and records deviation data in appropriate systems.
• Performs all related duties as defined by the Manager.
• Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to the table

• Two years education from technical school in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or Electronics Technician with 3 years related experience, or minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience involving the use of Metrology inspection equipment is preferred.
• Position will require the use of calipers, micrometers, vision me, Timing Gauges, Pin Gauges, Thread Gauges, and other various inspection equipment.
• GD&T Certification is preferred.
• Certification from American Society of Quality (ASQ), such as a Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQPA) preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to use or learn SAP and other PC programs.
• Ability to analyze information and assess issues.
