Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Quality Technician to provide inspections and process evaluations to ensure high-quality products and first-pass yields. The role reports to the Supplier Quality Assurance Supervisor and supports production to meet customer specifications.

Candidates should have 0–3 years in a quality role, be organized, with strong math and communication skills, and capable of working in a collaborative, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or high school diploma with equivalent manufacturing experience.

Job description

The Quality Technician will provide inspections and process evaluations that will be used in determining the most effective and efficient way to produce high quality product leading to first time yields that meet or exceed the required Quality standards. This position reports to the Supplier Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Duties/Responsibilities

• The Quality Technicians primary role is to assist the Production Team in ensuring that all products are produced according to the customer’s requirements. This role plays a vital part in providing the highest quality product to all customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Principal responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Provide support to production.
• Perform visual, layout, dimensional, non –destructive tests of materials produced in—house, and purchased against specified quality characteristics.
• Process rejections and generation non-conformance documentation.
• Identify problems in manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Communicate within the team to provide a solution.
• Implement required changes to eliminate process failures pertaining to product quality.
• Work closely with method engineers to update work instruction and supporting reference documentation

To succeed, you will need

• MUST be well organized and able to work accurately with attention to detail.
• Strong math, computer, and analytical skills.
• Self-directed, positive attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work in a collaborative work environment
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting detailed drawings.
  
• Proficient in MS Office, BPCS is a plus.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Must be persistent in the pursuit of required remedies to achieve the highest possible Quality Standards.
• Must be able to articulate the importance of process requirements as they relate to product quality to all assemblers.
  

Education and Experience

• Minimum 0-3 years of experience in a Quality Technician role in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
• Associate degree or High school degree with equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times (occasionally).
