About this position

Beehive Industries is dedicated to Powering American Defense by revolutionizing the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter. Through the integration of additive manufacturing, the company aims to meet the growing and urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense by dramatically improving a jet engine's speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.

Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loveland Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. Beehive is committed to grow and advance the defense industrial base while manufacturing exclusively in the USA. This role will be located at our Centennial, Colorado facility.

Role Overview

The Quality Technician/CMM Programmer performs advanced dimensional inspection activities and develops Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs to ensure manufactured components meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role combines hands‑on quality inspection with technical expertise in CMM programming, GD&T, CAD‑based inspection, and advanced metrology.

The CMM Programmer / Quality Technician translates engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements into effective and repeatable inspection methods and CMM programs. This position serves as a technical resource for CMM programming and dimensional inspection while partnering closely with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to identify dimensional issues, support root cause investigations, improve inspection processes, and ensure consistent product conformity.

What You’ll Do...
  • Develop, program, validate, maintain, and execute CMM inspection programs using PC‑DMIS software
  • Translate engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements into effective inspection strategies and CMM programs
  • Determine appropriate measurement methods, datum structures, probing strategies, fixturing, alignments, and inspection sequencing
  • Perform advanced dimensional and visual inspections using CMMs, manual measurement equipment, scanners, and other automated metrology technologies
  • Optimize CMM programs for accuracy, repeatability, efficiency, and inspection cycle time
  • Validate new and revised CMM programs prior to production use and update programs as engineering requirements change
  • Troubleshoot CMM programming, probing, fixturing, measurement, and inspection issues
  • Analyze CMM and inspection data to identify dimensional variation, trends, and potential manufacturing issues
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and CAD models to determine product conformity
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI), production inspection, in‑process inspection, and final inspection activities
  • Develop and maintain inspection methods, inspection plans, CMM program documentation, work instructions, and standardized work
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to investigate dimensional nonconformances and support root cause and corrective action activities
  • Provide dimensional data and technical inspection support for nonconformance investigations
  • Support new product introduction, process development, engineering changes, and production ramp‑up activities
  • Review engineering changes and determine impacts to existing CMM programs, inspection methods, and measurement strategies
  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection capability, automation, equipment utilization, measurement efficiency, and overall quality performance
  • Create, review, and maintain Customer Data Packets, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), inspection records, calibration records, and other QMS documentation
  • Identify, document, and support the disposition of nonconforming material through approved quality systems
  • Support internal and external audits by providing inspection records, CMM program documentation, and evidence of compliance with AS9100 and company procedures
  • Establish and maintain best practices for CMM programming, dimensional inspection, and advanced metrology
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced Quality Technicians on CMM programming, GD&T, metrology equipment, and inspection methods
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications and quality systems to maintain accurate inspection and quality records
  • Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting expectations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
