Job summary

Avient Corporation seeks a Quality Lab Technician for the 3rd shift (10:00PM - 6:30AM, Sunday-Thursday) to test product batches and incoming raw materials, maintaining COA and ensuring compliance with customer specs. Qualifications

Job description

3rd shift; 10:00PM - 6:30AM; Sunday - Thursday

Starting Pay:

Position tests product batches and will make adjustments, as necessary, to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. Tests incoming raw materials and maintains Certificates of Analysis (COA) from suppliers.

Responsibilities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally handle up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities may be required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc. Work is inside and the typical noise level fluctuates from moderate to loud. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is Occasionally exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionallyexposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.

  • Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations
  • Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, hand trucks, fork lift, utility knife, and mixer/secondary machinery and computer equipment
  • Demonstrate ability to rapidly learn the operation and set up of industrial machinery per operating procedures while following all training and plant procedures
