Job summary

Sukup Manufacturing Co. in Sheffield, IA is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure products meet company and customer quality standards. You will inspect, test, and document quality data throughout production, supporting CAPA and audits. Shift from 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM in a manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in quality roles, with knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949, SPC, and measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Qualifications

• Technical certificate or associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in the use of standard inspection tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and basic SPC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-process and final inspections of manufactured parts/products using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
• Perform quality tests and checks according to control plans, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Monitor production processes and ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Identify, document, and report non-conforming products or processes; assist in containment and corrective action efforts.
• Support root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA.
• Maintain accurate inspection and test records using manual logs or digital quality systems.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and help prepare necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve product quality and reduce scrap or rework.

This individual will support our manufacturing operations by ensuring products meet company and customer quality standards. This role is critical in inspecting, testing, and documenting quality-related data throughout the production process to help maintain high standards of product integrity and compliance. Work hours from 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM

Essential Job Requirements

• Technical certificate or associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in the use of standard inspection tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and basic statistical process control (SPC).
• Strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with quality software, ERP systems, or CMMS is a plus.
