Job summary

Magna International in Ethridge, Tennessee seeks a Quality Technician for 2nd shift to inspect sheet metal parts and assemblies, perform process checks, and support quality improvements. You will develop inspection plans, conduct gauge R&R, and participate in PPAP readiness and corrective actions.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, experience with measurement tools, SPC knowledge, and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to ensure customer conformity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; knowledge of quality principles preferred.
  • Quality technician training and/or experience.
  • Experience using standard measurement, inspection, and test equipment for sheet metal parts and assemblies.
  • Proficient in computer applications including CMS.
  • Knowledge of SPC as it relates to sheet metal stampings and assemblies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support floor operations and quality to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Prepare inspection plans and report test results; conduct gauge R&R tests as needed.
  • Audit and evaluate fixtures and gauges; develop gauging instructions and methods.
  • Train employees in check/assembly fixture usage and ensure quality documentation.

Analyze and solve quality problems, prepare inspection plans and instruction, select sampling plan applications, prepare procedure, train inspectors, perform audits, analyze quality costs and other quality data, and apply fundamental statistical methods for process control.
