Job summary

Nelson Global Products Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support production quality using Romer and CMM inspection machines, calipers, micrometers and other inspection tools.

You will apply drawings and PPAP principles to ensure parts meet specifications. The role requires 1-2 years in a similar position, ability to lift up to 25 lb and stand most of the day, with familiarity in 5S and NCMR processes.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in a similar position preferred.
• Solid understanding of quality inspection practices.

Responsibilities

• Component and assembled part layout in accordance to drawing.
• Line Romer for quality concerns.
• Support / Engage of deviations.
• Support Calibration system (inspection, test equipment, functional gages).
• Complete capability studies on critical, major and minor characteristics.
• Program development in PPAP principles and practices.
• Document & record data collected on inspection forms legibly.
• Keep work area safe and clean (5S – Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
• Promote quality workmanship that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations.
• Assist with Housekeeping in NCM area.
• Support Operations with NCMR process, inspect parts.
• Follow ITAR processes when appropriate.
• Assist NCM area with material handling, inventory, non-standard jobs etc.
• Perform other duties as directed by Manager.

HOURS:Monday - Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am with Overtime requirements posted as needed on Friday 3:30pm - 2:00am

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, supporting productions’ quality needs through use of Romer and CMM inspection machines and various measuring tooling such as: Calipers, micrometer, height gauges and other inspection tools. The employee must process a working knowledge of drawings and computer programs needed to support the quality functional team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-2 years experience working in a similar position is preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Quality plans and controls knowledge
• Gauging knowledge needed
• CMM knowledge preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Overall knowledge of preventive vs. predictive maintenance techniques
• Detail Oriented
• Must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push, pull 50 pounds
• Must have the ability to stand, sit and walk at least 75% of the time.
