Job summary

P&E Constructors is an employee-owned mechanical and electrical construction firm delivering large capital projects since 1946. The Quality Technician supports the Quality team by maintaining project documentation, updating drawings, preparing weld maps, and ensuring quality records are accurate and organized.

This entry-level role requires attention to detail, comfort with data entry and office software, and the ability to work with project teams on documentation throughout the project

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, fabrication, or quality-related fields preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read basic engineering or construction drawings preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn quality processes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Enter, update, and maintain engineering and construction drawings in accordance with project requirements.
  • Create, update, and maintain weld maps and associated documentation.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and project documentation.
  • Review drawings and documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper revisions.
  • Track drawing revisions and ensure current documents are properly maintained.
  • Assist Quality personnel with documentation required for inspections, testing, and project turnover.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical quality records.
  • Assist with compiling documentation for project turnover and final quality records.
  • Enter and maintain data in quality tracking systems and spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate with project personnel to obtain missing or updated documentation.
  • Help ensure documentation is completed and submitted in accordance with project and company requirements.
  • Follow established Quality Control procedures and document control practices.
  • Perform other duties and assist with quality-related activities as assigned.

Position Overview

The Quality Technician is responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the Quality team by maintaining project documentation, entering and updating engineering drawings, preparing weld maps, and ensuring quality records are accurate and organized. This is an entry-level position designed for an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in developing a career in construction quality.

The Quality Technician works closely with Quality personnel, project teams, and other departments to support accurate and timely documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

  • Salary Range: $25.00- $29.00 per hour

  • Ability to work extended shifts, including up to 12 hours, in outdoor construction environments and varying weather conditions
