Job summary

Nucor Insulated Panel Group is seeking a qualified Quality Technician to support production quality standards and material inspections. You will read part prints, measure to tolerance, and ensure instruments are calibrated to spec, contributing to a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will perform routine quality checks, work with measurement tools like calipers and micrometers, and be available for overtime and travel to support audits and training.

Qualifications

• Safety policies and housekeeping standards must be upheld at all times.
• Experience performing quality checks on production lines or assemblies.
• Ability to read part prints and measure accurately with common tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct production quality checks on manufactured parts.
• Inspect incoming material quality for steel, plastics, chemicals and more.
• Read and interpret part prints; measure to specification.
• Calibrate and use measurement instruments correctly.
• Assist with overtime and travel for training and audits.
• Use Microsoft Office products and learn in-house software as needed.

Nucor Insulated Panel Group is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Quality Technician. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, the ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Responsible for production quality checks.
• Inspect incoming material quality of steel, plastics, chemicals, and other items as needed.
• Read and understand part prints and measure accordingly.
• Understand, use, and calibrate measurement instruments.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor and Team Lead.
• Experience using Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn in-house software products.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Be able to lift from varying heights and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must have experience using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Must understand fractions, decimals, and standard metric units of measurement.
• Incumbent must be available for overtime and travel for training and auditing
