Job summary

Flambeau, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to ensure parts meet engineering specs and customer requirements, with emphasis on automotive customers.

You will work with manufacturing and engineering to apply the right quality tools at each work center and report on customer site information and complaints. The role requires monitoring customer portals, coordinating CAR meetings, and communicating quality expectations to production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform and document dimensional measurements of parts using applicable equipment.

  • Monitor MRB processes and manage QA hold areas and related documentation.
  • Schedule and report on CARs, containment, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain quality management system documentation and training materials.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and QA for quality issue resolution.

The purpose of this position is to ensure that products being manufactured meet the Engineering Specifications and Customer Requirements/Expectations. specifically with our automotve customers.

  • The Quality Assurance Technician is expected to work with Manufacturing, and Engineering to assure that the appropriate quality tools are provided and are being properly utilized at each work center.
  • The Quality Assurance Technician must be able to monitor, on a daily basis, various Customer Websites, and report any information, complaints, or news concerning Flambeau Inc.
  • The Quality Assurance Technician must be able to schedule, coordinate, and follow-up on Customer Complaint meetings and CAR analysis teams, including progress reports.
  • The Quality Assurance Technician must understand, and be able to properly communicate Quality Expectations and Concerns to all Manufacturing Associates in a friendly, courteous, cooperative, and professional manner.
  • The Quality Technician uses basic quality concepts and tools in ensuring conformance to established requirements for safety and quality. The Quality Technician interfaces with all other departments within the organization on quality-related issues and can act as quality trainer as required.
  • The Quality Technician acts as the site Document Control Coordinator. Responsible for updating and creating new procedures and work instructions.
  • The Quality Assurance Technician is expected to perform their duties in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to the Quality Manager or Operations Manager.
  • All work areas should be maintained in a clean and efficient manner.
  • The Quality Assurance Technician may periodically work in other work assignments, other shifts, and work overtime and/or weekends to assist with coverage and unusual circumstances.
  • The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for maintaining the requirements of the Quality Management System as identified in the Flambeau Inc., Sharon Center, OH Quality Manual and supporting documentation, or as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Summary

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions

  • Accurately perform and document dimensional measurements of parts using applicable equipment, including First Article Inspections on new products or product revisions including documentation and layout measurements of Production Part Approval Process (PPAPs), as needed.
  • Analyze parts for evaluation of visual/appearance defects including assistance with creation and maintenance of visual inspection standards for new and existing products including retains, customer supplied or company supplied samples and related storage areas.
  • Properly document analysis and findings on shop floor control charts, as needed. All documentation must be clear, and complete.
  • Daily monitoring and maintenance of MRB process including QA Hold area and related documentation for CHARTS ERP system and internal communication of issues.
  • Daily monitoring and reporting on all Containment activities.
  • Conduct and document Dock Audits as needed.
  • Scheduling, coordination, processing, follow-up, and reporting on CAR’s, as needed.
  • Daily monitoring of the Job Book System.
  • Daily monitoring, maintenance, and control of quality management system documentation.
  • Plan, assemble materials, schedule, and assist with Quality specific training as designated by the Quality Manager
  • Quality System record keeping.
  • Accurate sampling, recording and calculation of numeric data.
  • Act as QA Backup for in-process quality auditing, as necessary.
  • Any other duties necessary to support the quality function as assigned by the Quality Manager.
  • Maintain proper control of quality records as defined by the Quality Management System.
  • Acceptable attendance record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sitting, standing or walking for periods of up to four hours at a time.
  • Reaching, feeling, handling or grasping and detecting part inconsistencies and variances by sight and touch.
  • Accurately distinguish colors and shades of colors.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 40 pounds or less.
  • Twisting and turning to gain access to containers and packing crates.
  • Ability to travel to and from QA lab and shop floor work centers.

ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Inside offices, labs, warehouses, and manufacturing plants. Various environments considered.

  • Custom gages, gage pins, leak testers, and fixtures, both Customer supplied, and Flambeau Inc. supplied.
