Job summary

IDEX Health Science is seeking a Quality Assurance professional at our Middleboro, MA facility. You will oversee inspection, calibration, and testing activities, ensuring products meet specifications and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include CAPA investigations, MRB leadership, and coordination of incoming material inspections, with strong emphasis on data-driven methods and quality improvement. The role requires ISO 9001 knowledge, metrology basics, and proficient use of Word/Excel.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with sampling plans for product acceptance.
  • Interpersonal skills across Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customer Service.
  • Basic metrology techniques.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Experience using statistical software and techniques.
  • Strong technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection, Measuring, and Test Equipment – maintain calibration; review and approve work orders; create Certificates of Conformance.
  • Receiving Inspection – define inspection methods for incoming materials.
  • CAPA – lead corrective and preventive action investigations.
  • Production and Process Controls – review and approve work instructions.
  • Nonconforming Product – manage, quarantine, and disposition.
  • MRB – lead Material Review Board activities and provide findings.
  • Calibration Program Management – develop calibration procedures and oversee equipment.
  • Regulatory Compliance – ensure REACH, RoHS, and Proposition 65 compliance.
  • Returns and Customer Quality Support – coordinate RMA process.
  • Statistical Analysis – apply methods to support quality objectives.

Education / Experience

AS or AAS in technical discipline plus 2-3 years of related experience with progressive responsibility in Quality Assurance OR high school diploma and 5+ years related experience.

Summary

Under the direction of the Quality Supervisor, this person will provide technical services for the manufacturing and testing of company products. The duties will include manufacturing and environmental quality assurance, monitoring equipment performance, product testing and release, validation studies, calibration, and document control.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact and communicate effectively across diverse functions, including Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customer Service.
  • Technical Skills: Basic metrology techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience using statistical software and techniques.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Inspection, Measuring, and Test Equipment – Ensure all test and measurement equipment is maintained in compliance with current calibration requirements. Ensure all training requirements related to the operation and use of test equipment remain current. Work Orders Review and approve work orders related to product acceptance. Create Certificates of Conformance as required.
  • Receiving Inspection – Ensure acceptance activities and requirements are appropriately defined. Verify the suitability of inspection, testing, and sampling methods for incoming materials.
  • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) – Initiate, participate in, and lead corrective and preventive action investigations as required.
  • Production and Process Controls – Review and approve inspection work instructions. Support and maintain effective production and process control activities.
  • Nonconforming Product – Manage nonconforming product activities and documentation. Maintain quarantine areas and ensure proper identification, segregation, investigation, and disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Material Review Board (MRB) – Lead Material Review Board activities as required. Provide investigation findings and recommendations to support product disposition decisions.
  • Calibration Program Management – Develop and implement calibration procedures. Oversee the recall, calibration, and maintenance of measuring and test equipment.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Manage REACH and RoHS certification requirements. Ensure compliance with Proposition 65 regulations.
  • Returns and Customer Quality Support – Facilitate and coordinate the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process.
  • Statistical Analysis – Apply appropriate statistical techniques to support quality objectives. Maintain an understanding of sampling plans used for product acceptance and process verification.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $59,700.00 - $89,500.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
