Job summary

Closure Systems International Inc in Erie, PA is seeking an Inspector to generate and issue reports, program and operate a CMM, and inspect Erie products for quality, appearance and finish. You will follow work instructions, read drawings, and maintain calibration, records and quality control plans.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, read/understand basic math, blueprints and SPC, and be safety conscious at all times.

Responsibilities

• Generate, prepare and issue reports using MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Program and operate a CMM.
• Inspect Erie products for quality, appearance and finish.
• Follow and understand work instructions and drawings/prints.
• Legibly complete and maintain records per quality documentation.
• Recommend improvements to quality, workmanship, methods of production.
• Configure and use Infinity computer files as needed.
• Back up inspector positions; may require shift work.
• Follow work instructions for special metrology requests.
• Use statistical methods as required.
• Perform incoming inspections and engage with outside suppliers as needed.
• Maintain calibration system, document control, quality plans and internal audit system.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping.
• Be safety conscious at all times.
• Assist in writing or revising work instructions.

Job Location: Erie Plant - Erie, PA 16502

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Generate, prepare and issue reports using proper form and summarization in MS Excel and Power Point
   • a. Purpose

   • c. Analysis
   • d. Conclusion
2. Program and operate a CMM
3. Inspect all Erie products for quality, appearance and finish
4. Be able to follow and understand work instructions
5. Be able to follow and understand drawings and prints
6. Legibly complete and maintain records as instructed or per quality documentation
7. Recommend ways to improve quality, workmanship, methods of production, etc.
8. Configure and use Infinity computer files as needed
9. Back up all inspector positions as required (may require shift work)
10. Follow work instructions to complete special metrology requests.
11. Use statistical methods as required
12. Perform incoming inspections and work with outside suppliers for purchased items as required
13. Follow work instructions to maintain and update calibration system, document control system, quality control plans and internal audit system as required

Educational and Other Skills Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Read, write and speak English
• Past experience / proven ability
• Certified Quality Technician or Equivalent Experience
• Be able to follow written verbal instructions
• Must be able to read/understand basic math, blueprints, and SPC
• Be able to read measuring instruments such as micrometers, etc.
• Must be able to perform the duties of an inspector
• Complete Internal Auditor Training
• Certified Mechanical Inspector or Equivalent Experience
• Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and e-mail
• Supervisory skills desirable
