Qualifications

  • Experience with AS9102 FAIRs, including Net-Inspect and Discus.
  • Experience reading blueprints such as GD&T and ASME Y14.5M.
  • Experience with QA systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.

Responsibilities

  • Review technical data packages of assigned source inspection lots.
  • Review customer specifications, PO codes, and other quality notes from the PO.
  • Review and approve Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Coordinate CAPA/8D activities and root-cause analysis.
  • Create quality notifications for nonconforming material in SAP.
  • Report SQDC for the Quality portion.

SUMMARY

The Quality Technician ensures the company’s products meet specific quality and safety standards. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards will contribute to overall success.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Review technical data packages of assigned source inspection lots.
  • Review customer specifications, purchase order codes, and other quality notes from the purchase order.
  • Review and approve Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Review customer Material Returns Authorizations (RMA).
  • Investigate customer and internal failures and corrective action and failure analysis requests.
  • Coordinate and document problem‑solving activities, root‑cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA/8D).
  • Review and assist with Material Review Board (MRB) disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Create quality notifications for nonconforming material in System Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP).
  • Report daily Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost (SQDC) for the “Quality” portion.
  • Interpret requirements from procedures, specifications, work instructions, travelers, etc.
  • Assists in training final quality inspectors.
  • Perform and participate in periodic quality and process audits.
  • Review x-rays and Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) reports.

Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • An Associate’s degree in metallurgical, electrical, quality, mechanical studies or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience in quality, inspection, or related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with completing and reviewing AS9102 FAIRs, including Net-Inspect and Discus.
  • Experience reading and understanding blueprints, such as Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and ASME Y14.5M.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance Systems and Applications, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Experience in the aerospace, military, and defense industries or cable assembly businesses preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Active IPC-WHMA-A-620 certification at the manager’s discretion and may be specific to work location.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods.
  • Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.
  • Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.
JOB SKILLS
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, SAP preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including working with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Hand dexterity, coordination, and accuracy.
  • Flexibility and the ability to function comfortably in a fast‑paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer or internal demands.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
