Job description

Nesco Resource is currently sourcing for a Quality Technician for our plastic injection molding client in Chesterfield, MI. This is a contract to hire position.

Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Shift: 2nd shift 3:00pm -11:00pm Monday through Friday (overtime based upon production needs).

Position Summary: A Quality Assurance Technician will inspect plastic products to verify product conformity to customer requirements. When required, this position must be able to work with the Shift Supervisor and/ or Process Technicians in making decisions to wither have process adjustments made or to shut production down.


Essential job functions:

  • Examine product for visual attributes and dimensional defects per the Quality Work Instructions.
  • Read SPC software through X bar R charts, histograms and raw data plots.
  • Logs all data in the SPC software and shift change communication log.
  • Perform startup, final and in-process inspections in FAPP and make suggestions to improve as needed.
  • Perform final auditing on the press floor as needed.
  • Read blueprints to verify product requirements.
  • Perform R&R studies.
  • Uses measuring equipment to proficiently and accurately measure molded product (CMM, calipers, Micrometers, Ram, gauges, etc.).
  • Complete LPAs and/ or be a member of the internal audit team.
  • Perform Capability Studies as required.
  • Perform duties in IQMS / MRP system.

Training and Work experience requirements or preferred:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to meet stated customer initiated deadlines.
  • Blueprint Reading.
  • SPC / Statistics working Knowledge.
  • Problem solving techniques
  • Testing / Inspecting/ Training
  • Safety
  • Process Monitoring
  • Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and SPC software.

Education Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.


Essential Physical demands:
  • Sit, stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
  • Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
  • Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Accommodation as required for reading computer screens and documentation
