Quality Technician

Join Our Team and Help Drive Manufacturing Excellence

Penn United Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Technician to join our Quality Team. In this full-time role, you will collaborate with our manufacturing teams to ensure products meet the highest quality standards, support continuous process improvement initiatives, and help deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do
  • Partnering with manufacturing technicians to achieve acceptable product, that meets or exceeds quality standards, goals and delivery commitments
  • Performing inspections and audits of materials, and the manufacturing processes
  • Utilizing precision inspection tools such as micrometers, indicators, digital height gages, comparators, and other measuring tools
  • Identifying and reporting discrepancies from the standards, and ensuring nonconforming products are placed on hold
  • Creating, maintaining, and filing inspection records and quality documentation
  • Auditing manufacturing technician inspection logs and Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and verifying results with product sampling
  • Assisting with or performing First Article Inspections, Gage R&R studies, Capability Studies, and related quality activities
  • Assisting in training of manufacturing teams to follow inspection procedures and to properly utilize inspection equipment
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and inspection techniques
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail and deadlines
  • Strong reading, comprehension, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and cooperatively as part of a team
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Visual acuity of 20/20 (with or without corrective lenses)
  • Capable of completing training in:
    • Statistics and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
    • Measurement and inspection equipment
    • Technical math
    • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), as dependent upon job assignment
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
