Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 2–3 years measuring components using high-accuracy devices.
  • Minimum 2–3 years reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Minimum 2–3 years preparing technical and quality reports.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing/industrial environments as a QC inspector or technician.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience using precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

Now Hiring:Quality Technician

Location: Big Springs, Texas

Position Summary

The Quality Technician reports directly to the Quality Manager and is responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards throughout the production process by performing detailed inspections, precise dimensional measurements of large mechanical components, production monitoring, and quality reporting.The successful candidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and mechanical aptitude, understanding that exact measurements, complete documentation, and adherence to safety procedures are critical to product quality, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and the release of conforming products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products.
  • Ensure raw materials and finished products meet specifications through meticulous examination and the use of high-accuracy measuring equipment.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections and verify compliance with tolerances, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Read andaccurately measureusing bothanalog and digital micrometers, including high-accuracy ID and OD micrometers.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments includingcalipers,gauges,indicators, and other dimensional inspection equipment.
  • Maintain a strongattention to the smallest detail and measurement variation, recognizing that exact dimensions and tolerances are critical to product quality.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and ability to measure using themetric system (millimeters).
  • Inspect, measure, and evaluate weld beads to ensure compliance with applicable codes, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Monitor production activities to ensure products meet industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify defects, nonconformances, and quality concerns and communicate findings promptly to supervisors and production personnel.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare detailed quality reports, inspection records, nonconformance reports, and other quality documentation.
  • Analyze inspection data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate inspection and measurement records.
  • Stay informed of applicable quality standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company policies, procedures, and all applicable safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum2-3years of experience measuring components using high-accuracy measuring devices.
  • Minimum2-3years of experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Minimum2-3years of experience preparing technical and quality reports.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Control Inspector, Quality Technician, or similar role inmanufacturingor industrial environment.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience using: Analog micrometersDigital micrometersID & OD micrometerCalipersGaugesPrecision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to perform precise measurements in both standard and metric units, with strong familiarity measuring in millimeters.
  • Excellent understanding of geometric dimensions, tolerances, and inspection methods.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Basic mathematical and arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Degree,Associate Degree, or certification in Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Quality Assurance, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Technical knowledge of:Wind energy systemsWind farms and wind turbinesGearboxesMain shaftsRotating mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in heavy industrial, renewable energy, machining, fabrication, gearbox repair, or similar environments.
Technical and Administrative Competencies
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools, including analog and digital micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and tolerances.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with quality inspections, reporting, and documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and safety.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate with teams, and train others when needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform inspections throughout the workday.
  • Ability tolift upto 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing, shop, warehouse, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to safely inspect large mechanical components and assemblies.
