Job summary

Hexcel Corporation in Amesbury, MA is seeking a Quality Technician (1st Shift) to inspect incoming, in-process and finished parts, develop measurement setups, and generate accurate documentation. The role supports QA standards and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include conducting FAI planning per AS9102, preparing source inspection packets, interpreting drawings, and communicating quality status.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-3 years of quality related experience.
  • Must be able to interpret engineered drawings.
  • Hands-on ability with measuring devices and setup.
  • Detail oriented with thorough documentation.
  • Professional communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 / AS9100 environments is a plus.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Use sampling plans to inspect incoming, in-process and finished product and document conformity.
  • Determine measurement methods and set up equipment to measure dimensions and visual requirements.
  • Complete inspection/test documentation and reports per contract and ARC quality requirements.
  • Perform FAI planning and complete FAI reports per AS9102.
  • Prepare product and documentation for source inspections.
  • Interpret drawings, formulas, work orders, procedures and specifications for inspection and documentation.
  • Consult with management and engineering to clarify quality standards.
  • Communicate status of quality activities and help prioritize work.
  • Assist in root cause analysis for nonconformities.
  • Recommend modifications to improve quality within equipment capability.
  • Record discrepancies and communicate with Product Engineers and Management.
  • Prepare CoC and CoA documents as required.

Quality Technician (1st Shift) Amesbury, MA location
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Use established sampling plans to perform inspection of incoming, in-process and finished product and documentation to verify conformity.
  • Determine methodology and set up of measuring equipment / fixtures to properly measure dimensions, angles, profiles, configuration attributes and visual requirements.
  • Complete inspection / test documentation / reports with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in accordance with both customer contract and ARC’s quality requirements.
  • Perform First Article Inspection planning and complete FAI Reports per the AS9102 Standard
  • Help prepare product and documentation for source inspections as required.
  • Interpret engineered drawings, formulas, production work orders, procedures, instructions and specifications to complete the applicable inspection and documentation requirements.
  • Confer with management and engineering to clarify and determine quality standards and requirements.
  • Work cross functionally to understand and communicate the status of quality related activities and help prioritize work.
  • Work cross functionally to assist in problem solving and root cause analysis on nonconformities.
  • Recommend and help implement modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Record and communicate discrepancies found in product quality and documentation to the Product Engineers, and Management where applicable.
  • Prepare CoC and CoA documents in accordance requirements.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-3 years of Quality related work experience.
  • Must be able to interpret engineered drawings.
  • Possess strong hands‑on ability, competent in mechanical set‑up and the use of various measuring devices/equipment; such as, calipers, micrometers, height gages, radius gages, and optical measurement systems.
  • Organized and detail oriented to ensure accuracy and completion of work.
  • Affinity for documentation with a mindset for thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Professional communication skills both written and verbal to address internal and external customer issues / requirements.
  • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision, while keeping management informed.
  • Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to ensure commitments are met.
  • Previous experience in an ISO 9001 / AS9100 facility is a plus.
  • Experienced with MS office tools (Word and Excel)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Clearance

Pay Range: $23.37-$27.63
