Job summary

DZYNE Technologies, LLC, based in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Quality Technical Specialist to ensure technical drawing compliance and optimize processes. This full-time, on-site role focuses on rigorous reviews of mechanical and electrical drawings and driving quality improvements across programs.

You will enforce drafting standards, verify layouts, manage ECOs, and streamline release workflows while supporting AS9100 compliance and internal audits.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce Drafting Standards: review mechanical drawings to ASME Y14.5 and IPC-A-610/WHMA-A-620.
  • Verify Electrical Layouts: inspect PCBs, wiring harnesses, and avionics layouts for creepage, clearance, thermal relief and wire sizing.
  • Engineering Change Control: serve as final quality gate for ECOs and review drawings for secondary risks.
  • Eliminate Process Bottlenecks: optimize handoff from design to manufacturing for faster release.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis for recurring drawing errors or defects.
  • Standardize Quality Checklists: create/maintain drawing review SOPs to prevent repeat issues.
  • Maintain Aerospace Standards: ensure compliance with AS9100 QMS.
  • Internal audits: participate to ensure QMS effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in Change Control Board meetings: provide quality feedback at ECO inception.
  • Product Containment: assist in containment of products affected by ECO dispositions.

Position Title: Quality Technical Specialist

Location:Irvine, CA

Work Arrangement:On-site

Position Summary

This position is a full-time position at the Irvine site of DZYNE Technologies LLC. The primary goal of this role is to ensure technical drawing compliance by performing rigorous quality reviews of mechanical and electrical drawings, and systematic process optimization.

Required Duties and Responsibilities
  • Enforce Drafting Standards: Critically review mechanical blueprints for adherence to ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) and electrical schematics for compliance with IPC-A-610/WHMA-A-620 standards.
  • Verify Electrical Layouts: Inspect multi-layer PCBs, wiring harnesses, and avionics layouts for correct creepage, clearance, thermal relief, and wire gauge sizing
  • Engineering Change Control: Act as the final quality gate for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), reviewing modified drawings for secondary risks
  • Eliminate Process Bottlenecks: Analyze the handoff between design engineering and the manufacturing floor to streamline and accelerate the drawing release workflow.
  • Solve Systemic Issues: Lead Root Cause Analysis when recurring drawing errors or manufacturing defects escape to the production line.
  • Standardize Quality Checklists: Create and maintain robust drawing review checklists and Standard Operating Procedures to institutionalize tribal knowledge and prevent "repeat offender" mistakes
  • Maintain Aerospace Standards: Ensure all design control and manufacturing processes comply with AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Internal audit: Participate in internal audits to ensure the effective implementation of Quality Management System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) meetings: Give feedback and address Quality related concerns at the inception stage of an Engineering Change Request.
  • Product Containment: Assist in the identification and containment of products affected by Engineering Change Notice dispositions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Engineering Knowledge: Understand mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in GD&T
  • Compliance: Working knowledge of AS9001 or ISO 9001
  • Strong Collaboration & Communication: Ability to interface effectively with many internal and external groups
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma or LEAN methodology
  • Proficiency in IPC soldering/assembly standards.
Education & Experience
  • Experience:3-5+ years of experience in design review, and manufacturing within the aerospace, aviation, or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industries.

Salary

$95,000 - $105,000 annually

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
