Job summary

Enercon Engineering is seeking a Quality Technician in East Peoria, IL to support implementation of a new product line. The role requires interpreting designs and workmanship standards, developing new processes, and working with engineers and production staff to evaluate quality.

The candidate should have a high school diploma (or GED) with manufacturing QA experience; a Bachelor's degree is a plus. Full-time position with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience with QMS in manufacturing environment is required.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills essential.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal process/product audits.
  • Coordinate timely resolution of nonconforming products.
  • Maintain and develop process measures and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Suppliers to improve design and product features.
  • Provide manufacturing and technical support.
  • Lead safety walks and improvement projects.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Technician who can leverage their skills and experience to support the implementation of this new product line. This position requires a self‑driven individual that has the ability to interpret designs and workmanship standards, create and invent new processes and practices that enhance the effectiveness of day‑to‑day operations and product life, and work closely with engineers, production supervisors, and manufacturing personnel to evaluate product and design quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct internal process product audits
  • Coordinate timely resolution of nonconforming products
  • Conduct various gate inspections and communicate results with leadership and operators
  • Maintain and assist in the development of process measures and KPIs
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Suppliers to improve design and product features
  • Provide manufacturing and technical support
  • Research and investigate process breakdowns to provide new solutions and practices
  • Possess experience in the development of new product lines and implementation of new quality practices (highly qualified)
  • Utilize tools such as PFMEA, 5 Whys, and/or 8D (highly qualified)
  • Maintain tooling and calibration documentation and schedules
  • Create and implement QMS related procedures and work instructions
  • Train experienced and new personnel
  • Lead and conduct safety walks and improvement projects
  • Coordinate with customers to evaluate product field data and communicate results with internal customers
Qualifications
Education and Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. with 3 years of experience with Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.

4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Highly qualified individuals may hold a Bachelor’s Degree.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of specific inspection techniques, hand gauges, and related inspection equipment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Above average organizational and time‑management skills
  • Above average computer skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate quality related projects, policies, and other information at all levels within the company
  • Ability to coordinate projects or assignments with all departments and levels of the organization
Position Demands

Physical Demands (essential functions)

  • Climbing, bending, lifting, pulling, and pushing
  • Handling large equipment and lifting up to 35 lbs
  • Working in outside weather conditions, including precipitation and temperature extremes
  • Electrical hazards, including following lockout/tagout processes
  • Operating overhead equipment and cranes
  • Working from elevated platforms and lifts with fall arrest equipment
