Job summary

Refresco in Missouri seeks a quality assurance professional to ensure product safety and compliance across the production line. You will perform analytical testing, audit packaging integrity, enter data in SAP, and support continuous improvement through GMP/ISO practices.

  • In plants co-packaging alcoholic beverages, sensory tasting must be of at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies, GMPs, and wear required PPE in warehouse or production areas.
  • Ensure products conform to customer specifications in SAP and analyze raw deliveries, finished batches, and treated water.
  • Conduct chemical and physical analysis on materials and determine acceptability.
  • Audit product and packaging integrity against standards and report out-of-spec conditions.
  • Enter data into SAP and confirm batches; perform line checks and monitor process controls.
  • Generate Process Orders and print batch sheets in emergencies with Manager approval.
  • Maintain accurate test records and complete required reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate results.

Essential Job Functions
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas.
  • Adhere to food quality and food safety as per standards provided by corporate, customer, or governing bodies such as SQF.
  • Ensure all products conform to customer specifications in SAP and conduct analysis on raw deliveries, finished batches, and treated water.
  • Conduct chemical and physical analysis on raw and intermediate processing materials, including packaging, and determine status as acceptable or unacceptable.
  • Evaluate finished products against standards by performing audits of product and packaging integrity.
  • Investigate out‑of‑spec conditions, recommend corrective actions, and document findings.
  • Enter data into SAP and confirm batches.
  • Check process control parameters and maintain proper equipment operation (e.g., secure seal, closure torque, seaming checks).
  • Perform BBSO audits and provide feedback to observed employees.
  • Send professional emails to provide effective communication at all levels.
  • Generate Process Orders (COR1) and print batch sheets in emergency situations with Manager approval.
  • Stop any questionable production in terms of food safety and alert management immediately.
  • Maintain accurate, legible records of all tests and retests, and complete required reports (work orders, action reports, etc.) in a timely manner.
  • Perform analytical tests required to qualify ingredient batches for production.
  • Perform production line checks at specified intervals.
  • Ensure accurate test results by maintaining proper operation and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness at all times.
  • Report all out‑of‑spec results to designated leadership.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Demonstrate Tier I skills with limited supervision.
Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and SAP.
  • Exposure to measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMM machines.
  • Organized, detail oriented, adaptable to change.
  • Ability to apply statistical methods to analyze data and identify trends.
  • High precision and accuracy in inspection and testing processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO, Six Sigma, GMP, and other relevant standards.
  • Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
  • Able to read and understand metric system.

Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Work Environment: Operate in a fast‑paced production plant with moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection; temperatures can be very hot or relatively cold (laboratory temperature controlled).
  • The environment is structured and supervised.
