Job summary

Mueller Fittings Company, Inc. in Covington, Tennessee is seeking a 2nd Shift Quality Tech to ensure product quality throughout manufacturing. You will perform inspections, measurements, and data analysis, while maintaining QMS compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, CGMP and HACCP standards.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with precision instruments. Standing for long shifts and lifting up to 50 pounds are expected.

Qualifications

  • Quality inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure conformance to specs.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and CMM for accurate measurements.
  • Maintain and apply quality systems per ISO 9001, ISO 13485, CGMP and HACCP.
  • Participate in quality audits and assist in corrective actions for non-conformities.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Position Summary

2 nd Shift Quality Tech

The Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet the required quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This position involves conducting quality inspections, performing analyses, and maintaining compliance with various regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have experience with quality management systems.

Duties

  • Conduct quality inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines to perform accurate measurements.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards is essential for maintaining compliance.
  • Experience conducting quality audits and implementing corrective actions based on findings.
  • Solid background in manufacturing processes related to quality control and assurance.
  • Excellent analytical skills for data collection, analysis, and reporting of quality metrics.
  • Ability to operate various precision measuring instruments effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments. This role is vital for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and effectiveness.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to read and interpret part prints
  • Must possess math skills
  • Must be capable of standing/walking for 8-12 hours per day.
  • Must be capable of stooping, kneeling, bending etc.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds periodically

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical Agility: Continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting on a concrete manufacturing floor throughout the shift.
  • Lifting Capacity: Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds independently.
