Job summary

Amrize Building Envelope seeks a Quality Tech to maintain QA processes, test products, record results, analyze historic test data, and provide batch corrections to manufacturing. The role requires adherence to safety rules, 5S in the lab, and precise data entry. You will support production with proper PPE handling and lab sampling, including hazardous materials handling where required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Gmail, and Google Calendar.
• Ability to read and follow English work instructions.
• Ability to learn and use measurement tools.
• Comfort working independently and troubleshooting within training.
• Must present accurate data and not decide disposition of nonconforming product.

We’re seeking a Quality Tech who’s ready to be part of a company committed to formulating everyday success for every customer through innovative, reliable products used to adhere, seal, and protect at every level of the building envelope.

About The Role

The Quality Control Lab Technician maintains and follows quality assurance processes that describe the testing of products, recording of test results, analysis of historic test results, and providing batch corrections to the manufacturing team.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Adhere to and follow all safety rules.
• Follow all Standard Work Instructions and Company Policies.
• Maintain the 5S standard in the Quality Lab and Offices.
• Perform work in a timely manner.
• Perform analysis of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
• Recommend batch corrections to ensure product conformity.
• Alert supervision to product quality, process quality, or machine operation concerns.
• Place non-conforming material on quality control hold for further review.
• Accurately record testing results using appropriate quality control forms and systems.
• Release finished goods in company systems.
• Safely manage and handle hazardous materials/ waste as part of lab sampling.
• Create and post basic product quality reports.
• Scan and save quality records in quality control systems.
• Other duties, including occasional production support, as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• High School diploma, GED, or Equivalent Work Experience.
• Chemical Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Calendar.
• Ability to read and follow English work instructions.
• Ability to learn and use measurement tools.
• Comfort in working on your own and to troubleshoot situations within the limits of your training.
• Personal ability to be comfortable in the Quality role knowing that you are responsible for presenting accurate data and are not authorized to make decisions on the disposition of nonconforming product.

Working Conditions

The working conditions include an indoor, environmentally controlled Quality Lab with frequent exposure to non-temperature controlled, chemical manufacturing and warehouse environment. Occasionally subject to varying cold and hot temperatures and occasional outdoor activities in hot/cold weather. Appropriate PPE for all conditions is supplied.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs including use of lifting assistance devices.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended period of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, squat, kneel as required.
• Ability to wear and be qualified to ware all PPE including a respirator.

Additional Requirements

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
