Job description

Position Summary

We're seeking a Quality Systems Specialist - Dairy to join our team! As a Quality Systems Specialist - Dairy, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our dairy products by implementing and maintaining quality systems, processes, and practices.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, such as CAPA, Non-Conformance, Trending, Customer Complaints, System Process Change Control, and more.
  • Drive improvements by providing guidance and ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented adequately and timely.
  • Record and recommend improvements regarding sensitive information, auditing food safety quality systems, and manufacturing practices.
  • Issue nonconformance to necessary processes, notify leaders and associates for gaps in quality programs, and monitor status of actions and closure.
  • Assess corrective and preventative action effectiveness.
  • Support setting compliance and regulatory objectives for increased efficiencies, compliance, and quality relating to the business.
  • Participate in customer and regulatory audits, presenting programs and records, and identifying process improvements.
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and create Annual Product Reviews for management decision making.
  • Verify all documentation requirements, monitor adherence to meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Lead and participate in teams, using and sharing resources, information, and tools, and determining customer needs and business priorities.
  • Coordinate and execute work assignments, provide advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved.
  • Model and help others adapt to change or new challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years’ quality assurance and/or quality control experience within a related environment (for example, dairy plant, food processing, manufacturing). 2 years’ clerical experience (for example, filing, data entry) using computer applications (for example, email, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Visio).

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Science, Agriculture or related field. GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, SSOPs, CIP, SQF, FSMA, Appendix N Antibiotic Testing, DMC – Direct Microscopic Count, DMSC – Direct Microscopic Somatic Count, Sediment Testing, Freezing Point (Cryoscope).
