Job summary

Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. seeks a Quality Systems Coordinator at the RMSM seamless mill to maintain the Quality Assurance System, update quality records, train staff, and support audits. This role covers ISO 9001-2015/API-5CT documentation, test/report databases, and calibration and safety records in a structured manufacturing setting.

The position requires strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safe, compliant operations and continuous quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy/Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Two years of Quality Assurance experience preferred.
• Familiar with Quality Management systems, preferred.
• Certified Quality Auditor, preferred.
• Experience in ISO 9001/API-5CT Quality Systems, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain SOPs and confirm training has taken place when changes are made.
• Assist with updating the cloud-based EQMS system at RMSM.
• Conduct internal and external audits of processes and products.
• Assist with daily management and maintenance of the quality system; may require off-hour work.
• Manage calibration system, issue and record deviations.
• Report daily and monthly Quality Index information.
• Communicate product quality information and improvements to workforce.

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Systems Coordinator at the seamless mill maintains the Quality Assurance System including, but not limited to, recording and updating daily quality assurance and ISO 9001-2015/API-5CT, maintaining and disseminating claim information, customer database, test report database, scheduling and training records, job manuals, assisting with the safety documentation and training logs, and leading customer and certification audits for the mill. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintaining the SOPs which includes contacting/confirming training has taken place with the workforce when changes are made
• Assist with updating and improving the new cloud based Electronic Quality Management System (EQMS) system at RMSM
• Internal and external process and product audits
• Helping with the daily management and maintenance of the quality system which infrequently can include assignments that may require off-hour or weekend work
• Management of the calibration system, issuing and recording process deviations
• Reporting daily and monthly Quality Index information
• Helping to communicate information associated with product quality and improvements to the workforce

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent experience; Metallurgy/Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Two years of Quality Assurance experience, preferred
• Familiar with Quality Management systems, preferred
• Certified Quality Auditor, preferred
• Experience in ISO 9001/API-5CT Quality Systems, preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel
• Proven written and verbal communication skills, including Quality Manual and Second-Tier Procedure Writing skills
• Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
• Strong problem-solving and proven decision-making skills
• Initiative to identify areas, propose and initiate improvements

Compensation Range

$80,000 – $87,000
