Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking an Quality Audit Professional to lead internal audits of the Quality Management System and related processes in our aerospace manufacturing environment. You will assess conformance to AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirements, then document findings with evidence and drive corrective actions.

The role requires strong communication, MS Office proficiency, and experience interfacing with customers and external auditors.

Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 in aerospace environments.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience interfacing with internal/external customers and external auditors.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits of the QMS to AS9100, customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Audit manufacturing processes, inspection, calibration, training, purchasing, document control, corrective action, and records retention.
  • Identify nonconformances, risks, and improvement opportunities with documented evidence.
  • Lead opening/closing audit meetings and communicate results to process owners and leadership.
  • Track corrective-action plans, due dates, and closure status; verify effectiveness.
  • Support preparation for customer, registrar, Nadcap, and regulatory audits.
  • Maintain audit schedules, checklists, reports, and auditor qualifications.

Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits of the Quality Management System (QMS) to AS9100, customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Audit manufacturing processes, inspection activities, calibration, training, purchasing, document control, corrective action, and records retention.
  • Identify nonconformances, process gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities; clearly document audit findings and evidence.
  • Lead opening and closing audit meetings and communicate results to process owners and leadership.
  • Track corrective-action plans, due dates, and closure status; verify effectiveness of completed actions.
  • Support preparation for customer, registrar, Nadcap, and regulatory audits.
  • Maintain audit schedules, checklists, reports, auditor qualifications, and audit records.
  • Monitor QMS performance and compliance trends, including repeat findings, overdue corrective actions, and audit result

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with ISO 9001 & AS 9100, Aerospace OEM Customer-Specific Requirements.
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office. Focus on Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint.
  • Experience interfacing with internal customers, external customers, and external third-party auditors.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills.
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required; An associate degree is desirable or 5 plus years of equivalent experience in a Quality Inspection / Auditor role
