Job summary

US Farathane Corporation is seeking a Quality Supervisor to oversee the quality system including supplier contact, in-process, final, dock audits, SPC, QOUS, PPAP, and 8D project support. The role supports continuous improvements and maintains related documentation on the production floor.

The successful candidate will work with the Quality Manager to track daily quality issues, supervise the hourly Quality Team, and ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures in a plastic injection

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in quality
• 2+ years of quality supervisory experience
• Experience in plastic injection molding environment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Acquire layouts, testing, etc. on parts for PPAP, problem solving
• Perform and maintain Layered Process Audit system
• Lead cross-functional teams to solve quality issues
• Supervise hourly Quality Team and report daily quality issues
• Review material certifications for each received lot number
• Maintain quality documentation and calibration of QC Lab Equipment

Job description

We are currently seeking a
Quality Supervisor; the successful candidate will support the entire quality system including supplier contact, in-process, final, dock audits, SPC, QOUS, PPAP, and 8D project support, continuous improvements, and associated documentation.

US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 50 years. Through highly technical research and development, coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable Management Team and dedicated Associates, US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized compression technologies.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Acquire layouts, testing, etc. on parts for PPAP, problem solving, etc.
• Perform and maintain Layered Process Audit system
• Participate in cross-functional teams in the pursuit of problem solving and mistake proofing quality issues
• Assist in part audits and sort operations as required
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of job boards
• Serve as main point of contact for the containment area
• Prioritize all sorting activity to assure shipments are not missed
• Assure all quality alters are being for sorted products
• Notify Quality Auditors on completed products for re-inspection
• Track inventories of all hold products to assure hold inventory accuracy
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e. quality policy manual, employee handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)
• Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas
• Supervise the hourly Quality Team (Quality Auditors) regarding performance, quality, discipline, time keeping, etc.
• Work closely with the Quality manager to track and report on daily quality related issues that occur on the production floor
• Complete Daily Data Card (Quality) for sorting, hold inventory, hours sorted, and dollars on hold
• Reviews material certifications for each received lot number
• Assists with supplier issues while teaming with Quality Engineers
• Issues SPSR’s when required
• Participate/train new hires in weekly orientation
• Support/assist with maintaining quality documentation
• Perform and maintain calibration for QC Lab Equipment, including checking fixtures and scales
• Contain internal suspect stock
• Perform other duties as requested/assigned by Quality Manager or upper management

REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years of experience in quality
• 2+ years of quality supervisory experience
• Previous experience in plastic injection molding environment preferred
• Capable of performing gage R&R and capability studies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent standing or walking for long periods of time.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk talk, and hear
• Frequent use of hands to touch; reach with hands and arms
• Occasional stooping, kneeling or crouching
• Ability to lift or move 30 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities to include ability to adjust focus and close vision

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• May be exposed to occasional fumes, airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
