Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a Quality Supervisor to support a national data center business unit. The role drives quality activities, coordinates with QA/QC teams, and ensures adherence to project specifications and ITPs.

Based in Texas, Arizona, Oregon or Utah, the position emphasizes leadership, client liaison, and continuous improvement across projects and sites. A strong background in construction quality and supervisory roles is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of quality control experience in construction, with supervisory exposure.
• Strong inspection skills across a broad range of scopes.
• Ability to interpret plans and specifications, and visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills; ability to lead disputes with trade contractors/supervisors.
• Proven mentoring and leadership capability and willingness to coach teams.

Responsibilities

• Reviews prime contract and subcontract details for specifications and requirements and ensures quality activities align with project scope.
• Performs visual examinations, witnesses, monitors, and documents results per project specs and ITPs.
• Collects and compiles quality turnover documentation.
• Acts as liaison with craft personnel and quality manager for technical guidance.
• Identifies root causes of nonconformances and presents findings to the project team.
• Develops and implements the project quality plan and ITPs.
• Plans and participates in QA/QC task planning with construction activities.
• Leads meetings with the quality team.
• Liaises with client QA/QC representatives, third-party testing agencies, and trade contractors’ quality personnel.
• Ensures supplier and vendor adherence to project specifications, including verification of delivered materials.

As a Quality Supervisor in Texas, Arizona, Oregon, Utah, you will contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities

• Reviews prime contract and subcontract details for specifications and requirements, identifies quality requirements and ensures that quality activities align with project scope as per the terms and conditions.
• Performs visual examination, witnesses, monitors, and documents results as per project specifications and Inspection testing plans (ITPs).
• Collects and compiles quality turnover documentation.
• Act as a liaison with craft/staff personnel and quality manager to provide technical assistance and guidance as needed.
• Identifies and discerns root causes associated with nonconformances reports (NCRs) and presents to the quality and project team.
• Develops and implements the project quality plan, (ITPs) in alignment with project specifications.
• Actively plans, coordinates, and participates in Quality Assurance/Quality Coordinator (QA/QC) task planning activities with construction activities.
• Leads meetings with the quality team as required.
• Liaises with clients’ field QA/QC representatives, third-party testing agencies, and trade contractor quality personnel.
• Ensures supplier and vendors adhere to project specifications, including verification of delivered materials.

Qualifications

• Craftsperson certificate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 5 years proven experience in quality control and/or the construction industry, including supervisory and leadership experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of construction industry; understands specifications, drawings methods, and procedures.
• Excellent construction inspection skills on a broad range of scopes of work.
• Knowledge of various engineering systems, principles, and practices.
• Good understanding of and ability to interpret construction industry codes.
• Familiar with planning and sequencing concepts.
• Ability to identify quality risks associated with the project.
• Ability to interpret plans and specifications, visualizing two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
• Experience with internal project-quality assessments.
• Demonstrate planning, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and delegate.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Conflict resolution and difficult conversation skills, with the ability to lead and effectively resolve disputes with trade contractors/supervisors.
• Strong ability to coach and mentor.
• Strong capability for adopting new technology.
• Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) level II or III certification.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• API (American Petroleum Institute) 510/570/653 inspector preferred.
• Advanced skills with quality computer applications.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
