Job summary

Roush in Livonia, MI, seeks a Quality Supervisor to lead quality initiatives and ensure top-tier standards across operations. The role develops, controls, and assures quality processes for customer programs, applying inspection procedures and risk evaluation techniques on site.

The supervisor will drive APQP, PPAP documentation, supplier quality assessments, MRB/RTV handling, and product validation activities to support program requirements, with a focus on continuous improvement and team

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a relevant manufacturing or technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related quality experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading others.
  • Ability to understand, facilitate and implement APQP and PPAP documentation.
  • Knowledge of a quality management system and documentation requirements.
  • Understanding of the audit process and PC proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance through quality management system elements.
  • Support QOS metrics reporting for programs and groups.
  • Develop quality plans to meet objectives and customer requirements; train personnel.
  • Participate in APQP to develop control plans and documentation.
  • Assist in supplier qualification and resolving supplier quality issues.
  • Track and resolve quality issues with MRB/RTV processes and product disposition.
  • Support product validation activities including FAI, PPAP, and related inspections.
  • Lead problem solving and continuous improvement activities to address deficiencies.
  • Prepare written/verbal reports; present quality updates in meetings.
  • Coordinate quality staff development and alignment with customer deliverables.

Roush, a trailblazer in engineering and product development, is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead quality initiatives and ensure top‑tier standards across our operations. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for developing, controlling, and assuring quality processes and product requirements are executed for a given customer program, including applicable site‑specific requirements. The role will develop and apply inspection procedures and controls that allow for the determination and evaluation of risk, and as a result employs tools and techniques to resolve deficient quality processes and resulting output. This position is located in Livonia, MI.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001/AS9100 through development of business segment specific Quality Management System elements to ensure compliance within assigned business segment production product programs and sites.
  • Support reporting Quality Operating Systems (QOS) metrics for assigned operating group and programs.
  • Develop comprehensive quality plans to assure program quality objectives and customer requirements are satisfied. Train affected personnel on quality plan elements.
  • Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process with the objective of developing and maintaining program specific control plans and related documentation.
  • Assist in the assessment and selection process of suppliers, including resolving supplier quality issues when necessary.
  • Track and resolve quality issues with customers and suppliers, including managing Material Review Board (MRB) and Return to Vendor (RTV) process and product disposition.
  • Support all aspects of product validation including but limited to FAI, Quality Packages, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) in support of program requirements for suppliers and customers and support as necessary incoming, in‑process, and End of Line (EOL) inspection and testing, including equipment calibration or verification.
  • Perform problem solving and continual improvement activities where process or product quality is deficient.
  • Perform written and verbal reporting and communication. Present quality presentations as required and participate in internal and external meetings.
  • Implement and monitor Inspector and Specialist level Quality staff professional development plans and goals and coordinate quality staff in support of customer deliverables and business unit operational quality objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a relevant manufacturing or technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of related quality experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading others formally or informally.
  • Ability to understand, facilitate and appropriately implement problem‑solving and quality improvement tools and techniques and APQP process preparation of PPAP documentation including submission to customers.
  • Knowledge of a quality management system, its implementation and associated documentation requirements, with the ability to plan, control and assure quality processes and product in accordance with quality plan and customer requirements.
  • Understanding of the audit process including planning, preparation, execution, reporting results and follow‑up and demonstration of strong PC skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally on a personal and technical level both written and verbal with all company functional groups, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to self‑manage, set priorities, exhibit excellent organizational and problem‑solving and analytical skills, demonstrate high standards with attention to detail and strong time‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with supporting aerospace quality requirements AS9100.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technically related field.
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification.
  • Knowledge of second stage vehicle conversion and upfit of vehicles.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, assembly, and composites.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering skills.
