Quality Engineer / QA Engineer / Inspection Engineer required to support quality assurance activities at a global, leading rotating equipment manufacturer and solutions provider based in Houston.
The successful Quality Engineer / QA Engineer / Inspection Engineer will be responsible for supporting inspection and testing processes, ensuring all quality activities align with company standards, customer requirements, and relevant industry codes. This role will directly support the resolution of quality issues and help drive continuous improvement across the production floor.
The Quality Engineer / QA Engineer / Inspection Engineer will work closely with operations, engineering, and project management teams to meet quality objectives, maintain inspection standards, and support ISO 9001 compliance.
Support quality assurance and inspection activities across rotating equipment components, including compressors, turbines, steam actuators, and related assemblies.
Carry out and coordinate inspection and testing processes to ensure dimensional, metallurgical, and non-destructive testing compliance.
Review non-conformance reports, ensuring documentation is accurate, dispositions are appropriate, and timely closure is achieved.
Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes to improve product quality and reduce recurring issues.
Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and that relevant NDT inspection records and certifications are maintained.
Work closely with operations and engineering teams to resolve quality issues affecting production, repair, assembly, and inspection activities.
Assist with customer and third‑party audits, ensuring inspection documentation is prepared, accurate, and available.
Track inspection performance, identify defect trends, and support reporting of key quality metrics.
Support ongoing improvements to inspection procedures, quality processes, and production floor quality standards.
Ensure compliance with the company’s QMS, ISO 9001, and relevant industry codes including API, ASME, and AWS.
5+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality engineering, or inspection within a manufacturing, repair, or service environment.
Experience working with rotating equipment, ideally including the inspection, assembly, repair, or overhaul of compressors, turbines, steam actuators, or related components.
Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection tools, NDT methods such as MT, PT, UT, or RT, and welding processes.
Familiarity with machining practices, manufacturing processes, and mechanical component inspection.
Knowledge of welding inspection and applicable codes including ASME and AWS would be advantageous.
Experience supporting non‑conformance reporting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, quality documentation, and inspection processes.
Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems and relevant industry quality standards.
Relevant professional certifications in quality, inspection, NDT, welding inspection, or health & safety would be preferred.
Ability to adapt to changing operational schedules and priorities, working across multiple sites as needed.
Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass pre‑employment drug, alcohol tests, and background checks.
