Job summary

North American Coating Labs in Mentor, OH is seeking a Quality Specialist who loves root-cause analysis and clean audits. You will own our QMS, ensure ISO 9001 alignment, and keep data handling compliant with CMMC standards.

You will lead internal audits, coordinate with third-party auditors, drive corrective actions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years in quality management or quality engineering; preference for ISO 9001 and QMS experience.
• Solid grasp of ISO 9001:2015/2026 and QMS platforms; CMMC knowledge is a bonus.
• Experience leading internal audits and root-cause analysis; ability to drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Own compliance across ISO, ITAR, CMMC, and other certifications.
• Plan, schedule, and run internal audits across departments.
• Tackle production quality issues, RMAs, and customer conversations.
• Be the primary contact for third-party ISO auditors and customer audits.
• Track findings and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Coordinate with registrar on certification and surveillance audits.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll take the wheel on our Quality Management System (QMS), keeping it sharp, compliant, and aligned with ISO 9001:2026 — while making sure our data handling meets CMMC cybersecurity standards. Think of yourself as the person who keeps the whole engine running smoothly behind the scenes, and gets the credit when it purrs.

• Own compliance across ISO, ITAR, CMMC, and other certifications — you're the keeper of the standards.
• Plan, schedule, and run internal audits across every department (yes, you'll know this building better than anyone).
• Tackle production quality issues head‑on — RMAs, customer conversations, and everything in between.
• Be the go‑to face for third‑party ISO auditors and customer audits (bring your A‑game and a friendly smile).
• Track findings, assign corrective actions, and follow through until they're actually fixed — not just filed away.
• Coordinate with our registrar on certification and surveillance audits.
• Champion a culture where quality, accountability, and “we can always improve this” are just how we operate.

Who We're Looking For

• 3–7 years in quality management or quality engineering (preferred, not gatekept — talk to us if you're close).
• Solid grasp of ISO 9001:2015 / ISO 9001:2026 and QMS platforms.
• Bonus points for CMMC cybersecurity know‑how.
• Comfortable leading internal audits and root cause analysis.
• A communicator who follows through and doesn't let things fall through the cracks.
