Job description

Quality Engineer opportunity with our client, a leading producer and distributor of premium specialty alloys, including titanium alloys, nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys, stainless steels, alloy steels, and tool steels. These materials support critical applications across aerospace, transportation, medical, and energy industries.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive process and product quality improvements to increase First Time Through (FTT) and overall operational performance.
  • Lead and support the development of Critical to Quality (CTQ) measures, Key Process Characteristics (KPC/KCC), control plans, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Improve customer satisfaction by reducing claims, rework, scrap, and deviations from standard processes.
  • Analyze and enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) within critical manufacturing work centers.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies; implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.
  • Implement and sustain Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to monitor and improve process capability.
  • Apply and optimize inspection, measurement, and sampling techniques, including Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Partner cross-functionally during New Product Introduction (NPI) to develop robust, scalable, and compliant processes.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards including AS9100, Nadcap, ISO 9001, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and special projects as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a quality, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AS9100, and/or Nadcap standards (aerospace experience strongly preferred).
  • Understanding of quality management systems, root cause analysis, and auditing principles.
  • Familiarity with metrology and measurement systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional teams to resolve process and quality issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills utilizing tools such as Pareto analysis, cause-and-effect diagrams, control charts, histograms, and scatter diagrams.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies including Lean, Six Sigma, Practical Problem Solving (PPS), and error-proofing techniques.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, make data-driven decisions, and execute both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with standard computer systems and data analysis tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
