Job summary

AWC is seeking a Quality Specialist to ensure quality, safety and reliability of equipment for refineries and industrial facilities. You will verify assembly, configuration, inspection and testing per manufacturer specs, customer requirements and AWC standards.

You will lead calibration management, track non-conformances, analyze data, and help maintain a culture focused on quality and safety. This role requires working with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years’ experience with pressure relief valves in any technical capacity.
  • Basic understanding of ASME, NBIC, and API codes.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Attentive to detail, planning and time management.
  • Willing to assume a variety of quality-related tasks.
  • Ability to maintain records and compile reports.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturers’ requirements and customer specifications.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Standing, walking, bending and other physical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold QHS&E policies and customer requirements.
  • Manage site calibration program with full coverage.
  • Coordinate purchase of calibration or quality-related equipment.
  • Track non-conformances across valve documentation and processes.
  • Analyze data and create graphs and reports for continuous improvement.
  • Track training and certifications for ongoing compliance.
  • Support facility safety program and training to CI status.
  • Promote a culture of quality across the team."

As a Quality Specialist, you will play a critical hands-on role in ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of equipment serving refineries, chemical and petrochemical facilities, power plants, pipelines, and other industrial applications. As a key point of quality assurance dealing with Pressure Relief Valves, you will verify that equipment is properly assembled, configured, inspected, and tested in accordance with manufacturer specifications, customer requirements, AWC standards, and applicable industry codes. You will work alongside a collaborative and supportive team in a fast-paced, progressive environment where attention to detail, accountability, and a commitment to quality are essential to our success.

How you’ll make an impact:
  • Apply and uphold AWC Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHS&E) policies and management systems, as well as applicable customer QHS&E requirements
  • Manage the site calibration program, ensuring all equipment is calibrated at required intervals with no gaps in coverage
  • Coordinate and expedite the purchase of new calibration or quality-related equipment as needed
  • Track and document non-conformances identified throughout valve documentation, assembly, and production processes
  • Analyze non-conformance data and develop graphs, reports, and other visual tools to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Track recurring employee training and certification requirements to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Maintain and support the facility’s safety program in accordance with AWC policies and applicable requirements
  • Complete the necessary training and requirements to become a Certified Individual (CI)
  • Partner with team members to promote, strengthen, and expand a culture of quality throughout AWC
  • Understand and comply with all AWC safety rules, procedures, and company policies
  • Perform additional duties and activities as assigned within the physical requirements of the position
Skills you’ll need:
  • 2-5 years’ experience in with pressure relief valves in any technical capacity

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects up to 35 pounds
  • Work involves frequent periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, reaching, and bending at the waist
