Job summary

Pratt Industries seeks a Quality/Safety Tech to work with the Plant Quality/Safety Manager ensuring on-time production and safe delivery of products. You will help uphold safety rules, GMPs, and quality procedures while preventing defects from leaving the facility.

The role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and data-entry skills, with involvement in root-cause analysis and weekly KPI reporting. This is a full-time, on-site position at Pratt Industries' plant.

Qualifications

• Computer literacy; proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• High school graduate or equivalent with related college degree or technical courses; associate degree ok.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a related field; Lean, ISO, Six Sigma, OSHA or safety background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times; follow Pratt Industries safety rules and participate in the Plant Safety Committee.
• Follow GMPs and ensure quality procedures are followed to prevent defects reaching customers.
• Enter, track and resolve customer complaints; perform root-cause analysis when needed.
• Audit processes; manage non-conforming supplier defects and returns.
• Maintain weekly KPI reporting and CAR/PAR documentation; manage documents for safety, training and quality.

Job description

The position of Quality/Safety Tech will be working closely with the Plant Quality/Safety Manager to ensure on-time production and delivery of products in the safest manner.

DUTIES

• Work safely at all times, be aware of surroundings and understand and comply with Pratt Industries Safety rules, operating procedures, and help hold co-workers responsible for safety related items. Participate in Plant Safety Committee.
• Follow at all times GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes)
• Learn and comply with Pratt Industries quality procedures and policies. Stop bad quality from leaving the facility to the Customer. Catch it on the front end of manufacturing the product. Strong attention to detail for poor quality; prevent bad quality being sent to customer.
• Superior time management skills and must be self driven and self motivated. Excellent attendance is a must.
• Must have outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail is must.
• Ability to solve practical problems: ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
• Multi-tasking; ability to work with various challenges and deal with a variety of situations
• Ability to read, comprehend and interpret operating instructions, training and procedure manuals.
• Excellent communication skills; able to speak effectively to employees, managers, customers
• Excellent listening skills; ability to provide positive and corrective feedback
• Will be very involved in the complaint process for internal and external customers; entering, tracking, receiving complaint issues and resolutions to complaints or root cause analysis

• Must be able to work overtime as necessary, sometimes on short notice. We serve our customers 24x7 - 365 days a year and sometimes work on holidays not avoidable.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Computer literacy. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel, Access and Powerpoint.
• High school graduate or equivalent with related college degree and/or technical courses or associate (two-year) college degree.
• Minimum of one years of experience in a related field and knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, ISO, Six Sigma preferred, OSHA or Safety related field.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
