Fresh Express is seeking a Quality Process Owner to perform product quality and Food Safety performance tests across line and lab environments. The role emphasizes accurate measurements, proper labeling, and timely release of products for production continuity.

The position requires lifting up to 65 pounds, standing all shift, working in cold conditions, and handling chemicals. Shifts include overtime, weekends, and holidays to support plant operations.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and simple formulas.
• Able to accurately use a calculator.
• Stand for long shifts (8 hours or more) and perform repetitive motions.
• Must lift 15 to 65 pounds and move boxes as needed.
• Work in a noisy, wet, cold environment (30–34°F).
• Able to work with chemicals used in processing and make decisions.
• Flexible for any shift including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsabilités

• Conduct quality and food safety tests on line and in lab to ensure compliance.
• Evaluate raw materials, moisture, temperature, weights, O2 levels and blend ratios.
• Analyze microbial samples and environmental swabs per SOPs and customer specs.
• Document findings and support lab and floor activities as needed.
• Assist with cross-training and coverage during breaks and holidays.

The Quality Process Owner performs various product quality and Food Safety performance tests to ensure compliance with our Food Safety specifications.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Testing is performed both at the line/floor location as well as in the lab.
• Performs various tests to ensure the safety of our process and products. Tests may include such things as the following:
  • Evaluating raw material
  • Moisture analysis
  • Temperature analysis
  • Checking bag and box codes/Gold Case/Box Cutouts
• Ensuring the correct information is stamped on the bags and boxes such as codes, dates, and other necessary information.
• Confirming accuracy of bag weights, O2 levels, blend ratios and the like.
• Analyzing metal detection rejects, performs leaker testing and foreign object identification.
• Performing equipment calibration as needed to ensure accuracy of readings.
• Collecting and analyzing water samples.
• Performing PA and PH testing.
• Performing microbiological analysis of product (using petrifilm) according to company and customer specifications.
• Performing microbiological analysis of environmental samples according to company and customer specifications.
• Conduction follow-up on out-of-spec results.
• Placing product on hold as needed.
• Independently set up workstations as needed to enable timely release of product to next phase of production.
• Documenting various activities per SOPs.
• Document findings using a variety of forms i.e. paper tracking computer entry, electronic scanners, etc.
• Support QA by performing other tasks as assigned to support the lab or floor activities.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness in measurements and testing protocol.
• Responsible for actively supporting the other members of the employee's work team including assisting with cross-training, new-hire/buddy assignments, and process support during breaks, meal periods, and other staff coverage as needed.
• Employees may infrequently be assigned to perform other tasks on a temporary basis.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, simple formulas and conversions.
• Able to accurately use a calculator.
• Stand for the duration of the shift (8 hours or more), perform repetitive motions throughout the shift such as push/pull/lift, twist, stoop, and bend continuously through the shift.
• Climb stairs or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift.
• Required to lift 15 to 65 pounds and must be able to move boxes (lift/carry/pull/push objects), from the production line or pallet for quality checks as needed.
• Must be able to work in a noisy, wet, and cold environment of approximately 30-34 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Able to work with various chemicals used in our processing activities and be capable of decision-making
• Flexible and able any shift including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $21.70 per hour
