Job summary

Kaiser Aluminum Warrick in Newburgh, IN is seeking a Quality Process Leader to provide on-shift problem solving for process, product, customer and equipment issues, minimizing scrap and upholding customer quality expectations.

You will complete line audits, disposition metal for maximum recovery, and collaborate with Area Metallurgists. The role includes a 12-hour rotating shift with weekends, relocation assistance, and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 2 years of quality experience in manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading/supervising in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests with accountability and execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to adapt to changing production schedules.
• Must be able to work in a hot environment.
• Must be able to stand 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Complete line audits and monitor processes to meet customer and production expectations.
• Disposition metal in real time to maximize recovery and meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Area Metallurgists on shift quality issues.
• Review SQM maps on shift for defects and disposition accordingly.
• Become a Process Manager over key processes identified by management.
• Troubleshoot SQM systems when issues arise.
• Inspect coils and samples for troubleshooting and dispositioning.
• Send out Quality Shift Reports with metal dispositions and explanations.

We are looking fora Quality Process Leader to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana!

The Quality Process Leader will provide problem solving leadership on process, product, customer and equipment issues while on shift working through quality related issues to minimize scrap and maintaining quality expectations set by our customers.

What you will work on:

• Complete line audits and monitor processes to ensure customer and production expectations are met.
• Disposition metal in real time to ensure maximum recovery that meets customer requirements.
• Work with Area Metallurgists on quality issues that arise on shift.
• Review SQM maps on shift for quality defects and disposition accordingly.
• Become a Process Manager over key processes identified by management.
• Troubleshoot the SQM systems when issues arise.
• Inspect coils at the 2-56 when needed to obtain samples for troubleshooting and dispositioning.
• Inspect 10 ft samples for defects/features and react as needed when found.
• Send out Quality Shift Reports with metal dispositions along with detailed explanations.
• Position includes 12 hour rotating shift work including weekends.

About you:

• High School Diploma
• 2 years of quality experience in manufacturing
• Proven knowledge of leading/supervising in a manufacturing environment
• The ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing requests while maintaining a culture of accountability and execution
• Able to effectively communicate by written and verbal communication
• Willing to adapt to changing work schedule to support production needs
• Must be able to work in a hot environment, when on the plant floor
• Must be able to stand 50% of the time.

It would be great if you had:

• Strong technical aptitude along with proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP and Minitab
• Working knowledge of Ametek SmartView surface inspections systems or other equivalent inspection systems
• Industrial manufacturing experience in the metals industry
• BS/BA and significant related experience
