Job summary

Kaiser Aluminum Warrick is seeking a Quality Process Leader for our Warrick Operations in Newburgh, IN. The role focuses on solving process, product, and equipment issues on shift to minimize scrap and ensure customer quality expectations.

You will lead quality efforts, perform real-time disposition, review SQM maps, and collaborate with metallurgists to drive continuous improvement. This is a 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends, with strong benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• 2 years of quality experience in manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead/supervise in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and multitasking with accountability.
• Willing to adapt to changing production schedules.
• Able to work in hot environments and stand 50%.

Responsibilities

• Complete line audits and monitor processes to meet customer and production expectations.
• Disposition metal in real time to maximize recovery per customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Area Metallurgists on shift quality issues.
• Review SQM maps on shift for defects and disposition.
• Become a Process Manager over key processes identified by management.
• Troubleshoot SQM systems when issues arise.
• Inspect coils at the 2-56 to obtain samples for troubleshooting.
• Inspect 10 ft samples for defects/features and react accordingly.
• Send out Quality Shift Reports with metal dispositions and explanations.
• Position includes 12-hour rotating shift including weekends.

We are looking for a Quality Process Leader to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana!

The Quality Process Leader will provide problem solving leadership on process, product, customer and equipment issues while on shift working through quality related issues to minimize scrap and maintaining quality expectations set by our customers.

What you will work on:

About you:

• High School Diploma
• 2 years of quality experience in manufacturing
• Proven knowledge of leading/supervising in a manufacturing environment
• The ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing requests while maintaining a culture of accountability and execution
• Able to effectively communicate by written and verbal communication
• Willing to adapt to changing work schedule to support production needs
• Must be able to work in a hot environment, when on the plant floor
• Must be able to stand 50% of the time.

It would be great if you had:

• Strong technical aptitude along with proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP and Minitab
• Working knowledge of Ametek SmartView surface inspections systems or other equivalent inspection systems
• Industrial manufacturing experience in the metals industry
• BS/BA and significant related experience
