Job summary

BD is a leading medical technology company seeking a Mold/Inspection Technician in Sumter, SC. The role focuses on mold approvals, dimensional inspections, and maintaining dimensional histories for molded parts, while supporting validation activities and reporting findings.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, and preferably vocational/technical training with experience in injection molding and measurement tools. Safety and quality compliance are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/G.E.D (Required)
• Vocational/Technical School (Curriculum: Reading blue prints, computer skills) (Desired)
• Experience in Injection Molding, Rubber components and use of measurement tools (Required)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform mold approvals on new and reworked molds.
• Perform dimensional analysis/inspections on molded parts.
• Maintain dimensional histories for all molds.
• Assist in validation activities including measurements data collection for DOEs, ISIRs, Process Development, IQ/OQ/PQ.
• Operate and maintain precision measuring equipment.
• Notify personnel of dimensional discrepancies.
• Use blueprints and specifications related to physical/dimensional properties.
• Perform process inspections in molding area and related projects.
• Evaluate data and prepare reports.
• Follow safety and Quality System Regulations.
• Program automated measurement equipment to automate inspection routines.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinates and performs mold approvals on new and reworked molds.
• Performs dimensional analysis/inspections on molded parts.
• Maintains dimensional histories for all molds.
• Assists in performing validation activities including measurements data collection for DOE’s, ISIR’s, Process Development, Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification and Performance Qualification Runs.
• Operates and properly maintains precision measuring equipment.
• Notifies appropriate personnel of dimensional discrepancies as they occur.
• Utilizes and understands blueprints and specifications as related to physical and dimensional properties.
• Performs process inspections in the molding area; performs molding related projects as necessary.
• Evaluates data and prepares necessary reports.
• Observes all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Regulations.
• Programs automated measurement equipment to automate inspection routines where appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities

• Performs dimensional inspections for all departments as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.

• Experience in the following process: Injection Molding, Rubber components and use of measurement tools. (Required)
