Job summary

Kinetico Incorporated in Suwanee, GA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who designs and implements production processes and equipment to improve quality and efficiency. You will participate in cross-functional teams, support Lean initiatives, and help optimize factory layouts.

The role emphasizes process validation, control plans, BOM validation and KPI development while collaborating with suppliers and NPD teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering.
  • 2–3 years of manufacturing process or production experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma training; Green Belt preferred.
  • Experience with CAD/CAE software is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle or SAP is a plus.
  • Experience creating SOPs and BOM/ECO management is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implements production processes and documents to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and ensure safety.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams for product design improvements and field testing.
  • Researches automation techniques and plans factory layouts to optimize production.
  • Designs tools, jigs, gauges and processes to improve productivity.
  • Performs process validation, FMEA, and develops control plans.
  • Leads continuous improvement projects and tracks KPIs and metrics.
  • Interfaces with suppliers to improve part quality and manages SCARs as needed.

To view positions currently available at Kinetico, click the button below.# **Job Description:****Manufacturing Engineer** designs and implements the process, procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process and is a key contributor to planning, measuring and improving quality through both short-term and long-term initiatives**Key Areas of Responsibilities:*** Implements production processes & documents that increase efficiency, reduce cost and ensure safety. (Lean Projects)* Participates in cross functional teams focused on product design improvements, new product design and field testing.* Research automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.* Contribute to the design of tools, machinery or processes that increase productivity and efficiency.* Implements process validation plans, performs process failure mode effect analysis, and prepares control plans for manufactured and vended products.* Performs test plans for alternate materials, parts, tools or systems as necessary to introduce improvements.* Writes engineering changes and deviations to document changes to form, fit or function of production parts or manufacturing processes.* Evaluates returned goods for manufacturing defects, non-conformances, and product issues as needed. RMA Processes* Performs dimensional and functional review of manufactured and purchased parts.* Identifies continuous improvement project opportunities with respect to our customers’* Leads continuous improvement projects, activities and teams* Assists with the identification, implementation, and development KPIs, metrics, and reports* Designs and sources Jigs/gauges and other methods for both existing and new products and processes* Represents the Manufacturing function on New Product Development teams as needed* Assists in the Work Instructions and other Documentation maintenance for the Quality Management System (QMS)* Communicates with internal and external customers escalations, help solve problems as needs arise; lead cross-functional efforts to identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions* Interfaces with suppliers to improve purchases, part-income quality levels, managing SCAR’s with Vendors if required* Validate accuracy of Bills of Material and other key aspects of Product Data Management**Key Performance Indicators:*** Develops procedures to solve standard problems; analyses information and standard practices to make judgments.* Accountable for developing technical skills and contribution to the team.* Demonstrates interpersonal skills to support others.* Works in partnership with multiple departments.* Demonstrates flexibility & adaptability to keep up with Continuous improvement techniques and technologies.* Performance against KPI’s of which the QE has direct control or substantial influence* Nature and number of internal and external audit findings in areas the QE has direct control of substantial influence* Effective use of tools and equipment* Following procedures and accurately documenting results* Completing work assignments on a timely basis**Key Challenges and Decisions:*** Learning new concepts, materials and technology that impact the manufacturability of product.* Understanding and applying solutions considering the broader competitive marketplace and its technological advancements.* Leading continuous improvement efforts* Implementation of a QMS will require ability to evaluate and recommend standards and processes*This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive.
