The ideal candidate has a 5+ year QA/QC background in industrial manufacturing, strong auditing credentials (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor), and willingness to travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of QA/QC experience in industrial manufacturing or related setting.
• Laboratory supervisory/leadership experience required.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification required.
• Experience with wet chemistry, materials testing, instrumentation, and SPC.
• Strong willingness to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ISO 9001 Quality Management System and audit readiness.
• Lead third party registrations and customer audits.
• Provide direction and training to lab and site quality personnel.
• Oversee testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Ensure validated methods and calibrated instruments; manage quality metrics.
• Lead investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
• Manage laboratory resources, budgets, and quality performance indicators.

Our client, a manufacturer of specialty industrial materials, is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead its quality management system and laboratory quality across multiple U.S. manufacturing locations.

This role directly supervises a Quality Coordinator and provides functional leadership to site laboratory teams. The position combines quality systems ownership, analytical testing oversight, audit management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the organization’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including document control, procedures, and audit readiness.
• Lead third party registration and customer audits.
• Provide direction, training, and support to laboratory and site quality personnel.
• Oversee physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Ensure analytical methods are validated and laboratory instruments are calibrated and maintained.
• Lead quality investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action.
• Manage laboratory resources, budgets, and quality performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• 5+ years of QA/QC experience in industrial manufacturing, chemicals, specialty materials, or a related processing environment.
• 2+ years of laboratory supervisory or leadership experience.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification required.
• Experience with wet chemistry, physical materials testing, analytical instrumentation, and statistical process control.
• Willingness to travel regularly.
• ASQ CMQ/OE or CQE certification preferred.
