Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Supervising, developing, and mentoring Quality Assurance employees through coaching, feedback, exposure, and stretch assignments.

  • Leading department initiatives to meet operational objectives.
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting collaboration with assigned teams to meet quality objectives.
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the facilitation of cross-functional meetings to address quality issues and brainstorm solutions.
  • Leading, facilitating, and managing problem-solving initiatives in support of strategic objectives.
  • Partnering with leadership to implement programs designed to teach root cause analysis; serving as a strategic partner and advisor.
  • Following and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  • Leading the design, development, and implementation of processes that align with our quality policy: Understand. Create. Simplify.

Job Description

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is seeking a Quality Manager to lead our Manufacturing Quality Assurance teams across our West Lafayette, Indiana, Lake Zurich, Illinois, and Charlotte, North Carolina campuses. In this role, you will manage a team of engineers and technicians in support of the quality and reliability of SEL product assembly. Candidates with leadership experience, familiarity with SEL design and/or manufacturing processes, an engineering degree, and those who follow and promote our SEL Values are highly sought after for this position. Success in this role favors a high level of collaboration and adaptability, while utilizing strong facilitation and negotiation skills.

Typical day might include the following

Pay Range Data

We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We anticipate filling this position as a Quality Manager I, $136,080 - $201,050 per year. We welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
