Job summary

Karman Space & Defense in Corona, CA is seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality operations across inspection, quality engineering, and assurance, ensuring products meet customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements.

You will manage ISO 9001/AS9100 programs, drive quality objectives, maintain current drawings, and collaborate with engineering, production, shop, contracts, and purchasing to support production readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in quality in aerospace/defense or regulated manufacturing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on fabrication/assembly experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiar with material properties and in-process verification.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and gauge blocks.
• 5-10 years in quality control/QA management.
• English language skills (read, speak, write).

Responsibilities

• Lead quality operations across inspection, quality engineering, and assurance.
• Manage ISO 9001/2000 and AS9100 quality programs and drive quality objectives.
• Ensure blueprints and drawings are current and maintained before production.
• Maintain quality records and documentation related to quality levels.
• Ensure quality personnel have required materials, training, and resources.
• Issue and track returns related to quality concerns.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, machine shop, contracts/sales, and purchasing.
• Support destructive and nondestructive testing requirements.
• Oversee quality across shifts and enforce safety policies.
• Evaluate new/modified equipment for first article compliance.
• Resolve nonconformances using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Apply OSHA requirements and promote safe practices.
• Report hazards or unsafe practices.
