Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Quality Manager of Operations for our Mississippi facility. The role oversees warehouse operations, order fulfillment, shipping/receiving and inventory control, with a focus on safe, efficient performance and continuous improvement.

1st shift, standard workweek, tangible leadership responsibilities. The position requires 5+ years in supply chain/warehousing, 5+ years of managerial experience, strong MS Office and WMS skills, and flexibility for overtime and

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in supply chain, warehousing or distribution.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized scanner equipment.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including overtime, weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee site operations and personnel to ensure safe, efficient performance.
  • Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff with HR collaboration.
  • Maintain work schedules and assignments.
  • Ensure accurate time and attendance records.
  • Coordinate equipment utilization and plan maintenance needs.
  • Model and uphold 7S Workplace Organization standards and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with contract metrics.
  • Maintain high standards of operational efficiency.
  • Implement quality management system procedures across groups.
  • Prioritize productivity, quality and safety per company and customer needs.

1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 6:00am - 5:00pm

You have a passion forlogistics, and you know how to keep things moving and operations running smoothly. As the Quality Manager of Operations, you’ll be responsible for the efficient operation of the warehouse, including order fulfillment, shipping/receiving and inventory control activities. In this role, you’llhave a starring role in helping us continue to provide outstanding solutions for our global customers.

Whatyou’lldo on a typical day:
  • Oversee operational and personnel activities in the facility and ensure the safe,cleanand efficient operation of the site
  • Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff effectively, consulting with the HR team as needed
  • Maintain work schedules and work assignments
  • Ensure time and attendanceisproperlymaintained,monitoredand approvedin a timely manner
  • Ensure efficientutilizationof all equipment and the coordination of maintenance needs
  • Maintain and model the 7S Workplace Organization standard; ensure all safety procedures and policies are followed
  • Partner with staff to manage and alwaysmaintainappropriate stock
  • Ensure compliance with specified contract metrics
  • Maintainhigh standardsof operational efficiency
  • Ensure quality management system procedures are implemented throughout functional groups
  • Focus on productivity,qualityand safety requirementsin accordance withcompany needs and customer requirements
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum,you’llneed:
  • 5 years of experience in a supply chain,warehousingor distribution environment
  • 5 years managerial/supervisory experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word,Exceland Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
It’dbe great if you also have:
  • Bachelor’s or master’sdegree
  • Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting, including developing and/or managinga P&L; experience with HR practices
